Here’s our deal.

Retail is at a turning point.  The wholesale industry is a trillion-dollar market divided between 1.2MM retailers.  In the past, the market had been dominated by big-box stores, largely selling the same products from the same national brands – but the consumer has changed. 

Today, consumers are purchasing smaller, independent brands that are healthier, more environmentally friendly, more ethical.  Consumers have moved their spending to independent retailers (both online and offline) who they share values with, and who provide the best curated selections of craft brands.

This is where Hubba comes in.  We’re a marketplace that allows independent retailers to purchase products directly from the planet’s hottest craft brands to carry on their store shelves.  We use a combination of machine learning and personal curation to match these retailers with their next best seller.

Here’s what the role’s about.

To get there, we need retailers regularly placing orders from our brands – the right brands and the right products that will sell-through and make these retailers successful.  The Inside Sales Representative is the individual charged with identifying, selling, and closing said transactions.  This means:

  • Educating and qualifying prospects to create sales-ready opportunities through dialing, email, social media, text, etc. both outbound and in response to marketing interest.
  • Managing a pipeline of opportunities, successfully overcoming objections to sell retailers the best set of products to meet their needs from the Hubba marketplace.
  • Create and continually iterate on voice (call/email), written (email, text, social media) approaches/templates to increase conversation rates at each step of our sales funnel.
  • Tracking and managing prospects and opportunities through our SFA (Outreach) and CRM (salesforce.com) tools.

How the reporting structure works:

Reports to the Team Lead, Market Development; Individual contributor role (no direct reports)

Here’s what you need to be successful.

  • You understand the value of a sales team and are driven to be one of the best – you can speak to best practices, how you stay on the cutting-edge of sales approaches, etc.
  • You have an analytical, data-driven mindset – you let the numbers do the talking.
  • You have a demonstrated track record of success (whether in work, school, or hobbies) – you are constantly striving for improvement and can speak to the steps you’ve taken.
  • You have impeccable attention to detail – please respond “Your next top ISR” as your answer to “I want to be…” in the job application.
  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills (both with internal coworkers and external customers/prospects).

Bonus points for, but not necessary:

  • You have a university degree (preferably in a technical or business field).
  • You have sales experience (preferably in SME markets).
  • You have experience using salesforce.com or sales force automation tools (e.g. SalesLoft, Outreach).
  • You have advanced Excel knowledge/experience.
