Here’s the deal

We’re at a turning point in retail right now. The wholesale industry is a trillion-dollar market currently divided between 1.2 million retailers. The world is moving from a big box environment to a personalized, curated space where retailers are becoming storytellers and tastemakers rather than providers of plenty. This means that independent retailers need efficient ways of sorting through the clutter and getting the right products to their shelves. It also means that those independent retailers need to find ways of competing with the larger players.

That’s where Hubba comes in. We use a combination of machine learning and personal curation to match retailers with the right brands and products for their stores. We make the sourcing and discovery process easy and facilitate the process of getting the hottest new products onto independent retailer shelves.

We are designing a smart and efficient recommendation system that is robust enough to recommend products to retailers based on their business needs, as well as recommend connections to our users to help them grow their networks and their businesses.

You will define and deploy algorithms to automate econometric learning and drive optimal decision making in providing the correct recommendations to retailers and brands alike. Our users should feel like they have a personal assistant who knows their business sending them information that appeals to them every time they access Hubba.

What we’ll look for

  • Design, develop, and implement end-to-end cloud based machine learning production pipelines (data exploration, sampling, training data generation, feature engineering, model building, and performance evaluation).

  • Ensures that data pipelines are scalable, repeatable, and secure, and can serve multiple users within the company.

  • Delivers big data and batch/real-time analytical solutions that leverage emerging technologies.

  • Collects, parses, manages, analyzes and visualizes large sets of data using multiple platforms.

  • Translates complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture, design, and high performing software and applications.

  • Codes, tests, and documents new or modified data systems to create robust and scalable applications for data analytics.

  • Works with peer developers to make sure that all data solutions are consistent and ensures all automated processes to preserve data by managing the alignment of data availability and integration processes.

  • Develops standards and processes for integration projects and initiatives.

What we can offer

We’re building a company with real impact and global scale, and you’re getting in early enough to make it your own. Your work is going to matter a lot. Hubba will invest in you, help you be better and help you go further.

The team is light on ego and high on curiosity. The senior leadership are grown ups who have built things before and are building a business, not a frat house.

If you’re interested in being a part of revolutionizing retail, let us know why we should talk. We are proud to foster a workplace free from discrimination. We strongly believe that diversity of experience, perspectives, and background will lead to a better environment for our employees and a better product for our users. This is something we value deeply and we encourage everyone to come be a part of this!

Accommodations for people with disabilities are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.
